Mining for gold on the Altamaha River
Every year the Altamaha river rises and falls and along with that comes a multitude of usable wood for our business. We mine the Altamaha river banks when the river falls to it's lowest stage for good wood to use for our craft. Everything from sunken cypress that has been dislodged by the rising water to full trees that have fallen in the river to drift wood. This type of wood (especially the older wood) makes unique and beautiful blanks for lasering and cnc work.
